Local Income Tax calculator

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Since the other local income tax thread just degenerated into utter bullshit, I'll post this here..

The lib dems have a handy little gadget that will roughly calculate if you would be better or worse off under local income tax. it is located here -

http://www.axethetax.org.uk/page.php?taxcalculator

For me it said
Your tax bill would be higher than under Council Tax. You would pay £311 more per year. Many lower income households would benefit

Gee. I'm so happy for all the lower income households. That's why I work hard, so that I can pay more :/

    Think of the poor people!

In the big scheme of things £311 isn't that much extra throughout the year.

    Its fairer all round.

    Woo, I would gain £275 :D
That's because I'm under the minimum tax bracket on my earnings now, and am still paying half my council tax.

Mist is quite capable,I think,of giving £311 to "the poor people" if he chooses to do so.Is it necessary for a bunch of thieves to pick his pocket, with the added threat of violence, and do it for him?A strange definition of "fair".

The gadget ain`t Charles Kennedy judging by his performance at the press conference answering questions on the same.He looked like he was auditioning for the part of Vicki Pollard.

First I`d need to know what, factually,is the "poverty line",should I ever find myself on it ?

That's true, not everyone can afford everything. But just because I earn a certain amount doesn't mean I can afford everything either. It sure as hell doesn't mean I can afford the exact same everything as my next door neighbour (for example) at a higher price.

I'm not a big fan of this. I take it I'd have to pay this local income tax even though I live with my parents? They pay the council tax so automatically I'd be worse off! Yes, I do pay board money, but nowhere near what this tax would take from me.

Or, is it paid in the same way as council tax, by the household, rather than the individual? If it's per household and it's paid like council tax then I'm all for it!

Klintock shit himself at the thought of internet loopholes and spent two days backtracking to make sure it's hard/impossible to find out who he is.

Your still full of shit, Blagsta.

    Idiot?

I told you, it's up to you what you do mate.

You left in a huff 'cos you were caught out as a chronic bullshitter with no logical arguments.

    What can I say.

No customers here, but I am back anyway, mainly because it's fun.

You are completely correct about everything Blagsta old chum. Good luck to you the next time you stick your hand in your pocket. Use the stuff or don't it's still your choice.

What evidence have you got for this "in a huff" stuff?

I did get worried I admit. The thing about doing what I do is that it's fucking lonely and there is a very simple soluton to the problem I present.

My best defence is to rope others into doing it too. I may also make some cash that way. (Not from you obviously, you like paying "tax".)

Still - up to you Blagsta old chum.

BTW, did you read any other "Klintock" threads from google?

    http://www.icrc.org/web/eng/siteeng0.nsf/iwpList320/F4607C74CA18E5F5C1256B66005C27D5

How about looking up the words for "It's different for girls?"

    http://www.lyricsfreak.com/j/joe-jackson/72778.html

    She said - I can’t believe it
You can’t - possibly mean it
Don’t we - all want the same thing
    Don’t we?

    Do behave, Blagsta.

This is not the "all about klintock" thread. It's a thread about local income tax.

Stay on topic or start your own thread.

Bloody hell, just shows what a bloody rip off my London council tax is, I'm still not sure how they explained away 20% increases year after year. Gits.
