One of the unpleasant things about the BNP is a history of thuggery.
They are not a major party. They will win no seats at all in the coming election. If their minor successes in local elections here and there bother you, combat them politically (by campaigning for whichever party you think is best) - instead of talking of being a better thug than the BNPers are.
I despise anyone who wants to use force on others....and those with this kind of irrational sloping forehead mentality I have no time for whatsoever.
The Nazi-BNP is a bunch of racist thugs, similiar in temperament and attitude to their equivalent on the Left.
Why not start to address the issues of why people vote for them instead of just flying the nazi tag around which probably worked agaisnt the NF in the 70's but carries no clout today in 2005.
The problem as I see it is that they are addressing certain issues that concern people, (eg immigartion), and if the mainstream parties refuse to deal openly with these issues then they're playing right into the hands of the BNP! The last thing we want is BNP representation at any level in our body politic, but democratically we cannot stop it if the voting public turn to them in utter frustration - we must not let this happen.

I am guessing most people vote for them because they are 'concerned' about immigration etc and/or they are outright racists.
On the immigration front both the main parties are taking what I persoanlly would consider to be avery 'tough' stance anyhow, anything further would be completely ridiculous (as if the current policy isn't already) Thus there is no way to deal with their 'concerns'.
What woukld be usefukl would be public information campaigns to crush the xenophobic myths that surround the issues of immigartion and which pass for fatc for so many people.........

That site was a joy to read, was good to see a left wing party actually taking about issues regarding immigration and race and not just passing off the same old bullshit that some others do.
The ANL and SWP could learn a lot from the guys running that site :thumb:

I've yet to see an intelligent arguement from the BNP about immigration.

I actually met a few BNP/NF guys while I boxed a few years back and believe me some of them you wouldnt want to mess with :no:
I cant say who but there is a very famous northern boxer out there now who is a BNP supporter and didnt mind anybody knowing it when he was younger.

I've drank with some BNP, some would be surprised by their intelligence.
theres not much you can do in these situations. and the the ANL are just as bad, they are up for fighting just as much. so i'd stay away from them too.
Reading some of the extreme right-wing revionism on WW2 I was actually suprised by the obvious intelligence of some of the writers, and ability to thread together a cogent argument.
OK their conclusions were complete bollocks and relied on some very dubious sources.

I suppose a lot more BNP will be more intellegent now because they have brances at universitys etc and I think Ive seen a few of them on TV giving interviews with law degrees etc. Just proves more that you have to fight thier politics and not just tar them all with the nazi boot boy image as it obviously isnt true anymore.

The history of a political party has no reflect on its current runnings. Can you say Labour are still socialist? Are the Lib Dems still liberal?
I know what Sin Fein stands for, but they are making a mockery of the current system, by all rights they should have action taken agaisnt them. Would we let Al-Queada stand for election?
i can assure you that the majority of sinn fein members have no connections whatsoever with the IRA, years ago yes but the party has modernised itself, it's quite organised and effecient, it has a good mandate, not just "give ireland back to the irish" which is a popularised view, certain Sinn Fein representatives do have contacts with the IRA but act only as a go-between with the governments and isn't directly involved in any of the organisations activites (contrary to public opinion) so by this logic sinn fein are actually doing a favour for the system...if there was no sinn fein the IRA would still be bombing the streets, which is a lot worse than robberies and an odd murder which i'll not condone but is obviously more preferable...
