BDSM and Abuse ?!

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
BDSM: - I'm curious - Do most people do it because they are acting out abuse that they have already suffered?

I ask because a lot of the time I have sex, thats what I feel like i'm doing... "acting out" ... so I was just sort of wondering, becasue I don't really understand why anyone would WANT to be "abused" or give "abuse" - even though it's not abuse ... obviously, because you are consenting to it. But... ermmm...

cos my earlier post wasn't really answering your question:

i've never been abused so it wasn't 'acting out'. i actually enjoyed submitting to my partner because it turned me on, and i trusted him enough to know he'd stop if i wanted him to
