hey all- i didn't really know where this should go but..

At school a guy was rumoured to have dope on him, so a teacher found out. N e way, they demanded to search his stuff, n they found a couple of spliffs in his bag, and a load of cash. They got the police around, n i dont really know whats happened with the police, but, my mate was meant to be sellin him some resin, and luckily she wa\sn't in school that day- This was the first time she was meant to be giving him it. He grassed her in, even though she had nothing to do with that incedent, to try n take some of the attention off him. ...So i was just wondering, firstly if they had the right to go through his bag- without police there, and no permission, and secondly will they do anything to my mate...with only his story to go on?

Sorry if this is just a pointless post, but iw as just wondering if shes gooing to get busted, and I basically just wanted to tell u how annoyed I am with this certain young lad who grassed my mate to the police=- even though she hadn't supplied him!

Your mate isn't in any trouble, but she may get searched so make sure she is clean. Not sure if the school has the right to search his stuff, i think they may have if they have reasonable evidence to suspect he is breaking the law and endangering others with weapons or drugs etc...... Sounds to me like they got him hook line and sinker and i guess everyone they take in tries to pass the blame so i wouldn't worry <IMG alt="image" SRC="wink.gif" border="0">

I don't think the school did have the right to search him and his bag, a few months ago we had police with sniffer dogs in our school, and this is the only time bags have been searched. Even then, it was the person who owned the bag that had to empty it. Nothing was touched by the school.

This is exactly what is wrong with the kids today, they can't take responciblity for their actions, and always on the look out for the easy way out. In this case the grass concerned should be shuned by everybody, until such time as they can be trusted.

but to the point, yes the school can go through your bags, ask you to empty your pockets and open your locker. They are responcible for you and your actions whilst on the school property and to a certain degree on your way too and from school. Your freind will not be in trouble as such but will now be seen by many teachers as a drug dealer and watched because of this.
