Candy Flipping?

Calling all Science boffins...

What a good idea i thought, take one drug that lets your imaination run free (LSD) and one kind of insurance drug to make sure you feel happy and relaxed (Ecstacy) at the same time. So i decided to look into it.

Many of us realise that ecstacy (MDMA and friends) works by enhancing the effect of the nuerotransimitter seratonin.

Unfortunatly accordign to 'Brain Story' a recent pubication by Susan Greenfield (an acompanyment to a BBC documentary on the brain which has some interesting brief explainations of the effects of most illigal drugs) "LSD binds to a receptor designed for seratonin and inhibbits its uptake... In other words the drug blocks the effect of seratonin. As it happens, the drug ecsacy also works on the seratonin system but in the other way". Unquote.

So anyone tried it? Do they really just cancel out?

Does anyone know if Magic Mushrooms also work in the same way as LSD or is that a loophole is smell?

Thanx

They surely don't cancel each other out? I thought when you get a really trippy E, it's because it's laced with acid.

Nope. It's very rare that pills contain LSD. Infact the only pills I've come across with LSD in them are microdots (which arn't sold as ecstasy anyway) and a mitsi I had once. MDMA has psychedelic properties in high doses anyway but pills may also contain any of the following, Ketamin, 2CB, 4MTA, MDEA, MEM, DOB, 2-CT-2 etc ect. All of which are psychedelic.
So anyone tried it? Do they really just cancel out?

In my experience the answer is no. Candy flipping is a very popular combination that has known extra dangers.

A book I recently bought from a rave entiltled Ecstasy Reconsidered by Nicholas Saunders (ecstasy.org) has a some info on it and mixing ecstasy with other psychedelics

LSD and E ('Candyflip') produces a more intense E high rather than an acid high, but deeper and more visual.

2CB can be taken with, before or after the E and can produce deep empathic content and helps ecstasy users to retain and develop their insights.

Ketamine is not enhanced by ecstasy.

It also says that Nitrous oxide is enjoyable while on ecstasy and enhances the high... Justin you done it?

I noticed this whilst taking prozac and E. Basically I got fucked from 2 pills. There is evidence to suggest that the prozac may help in some way protect your brain.

Hmmm i understand that whilst on prozac u cant get fucked of pills. Heres a lil info i found. SSRI in this case being prozac.

There are two reason's why people taking SSRI's won't roll(meaning, won't feel the empathic effects of MDMA - you should still feel the "speedy" effects). The first is that the SSRI plugs up the serotonin receptor, so that the MDMA can't latch on.

The second is that after some time (weeks - months) the SSRI appears to make your serotonin receptors "down-regulate" meaning there are less receptors available. MDMA is thought to do the same thing and this is why you become tolerant to it's effects if you use it frequently. This is why merely stopping an SSRI until it is washed out of your system still won't allow most people to roll - because of down-regulation.
