Me to, shame they'll never get elected though.

This bit made me laugh:

But the Labour party denounced the move, saying the Liberal Democrats had "lost touch with the real world" where drugs policy is concerned.

Yeah Labour, whatever you say

Wudnt legalising cannabis put the price of it up? thru the government taxing it?

I have no problem E going to a class B

I think jail sentences for possesion of all drugs shud be abolished, but only up to a certain limit for the drugs.
Many lifes have been runied coz sum1 has gone to jail for being caught with as little as 5 pills just for personal use.
I think letting ppl off with a caution for having recreational amounts of drugs, 0-15 pills, 1-2 gram of coke etc, would be a wise move.

But dispite this i still feel that if a drug dealer was ever caught (say with house full of pills, speed, coke etc, i still feel that these people shud do proper time in jail (many many years)

I backed them before, but now I'll probably get the motivation to actually go and vote.

Typical government scaremongering, and they accuse the LibDems of been out of touch...

I read an article in the paper a few weeks ago that talked about the £19 billion spent every year on drug related crimes, a lot of this could be saved if money wasn't wasted on punishing people who only had an eighth of weed or a couple of pills on them.

But if the dealer gets locked away for many, many years where would you get your stuff from Mattbomb?

Exactly!!

Without the user they'd be no dealer so in one way you could say we the user are to blame. Granted, they're in it for the money but without them we'd have no drugs (not a good scenario in my book ). Whether they're in it for the money or not, when it comes down to it they're risking they're freedom to supply us with substances that make us feel good.

Dealers arn't evil and in my experience they certainly don't push drugs and if laws are to be relaxed on the user they should be relaxed on the dealer too.

Yer i know what i said was completely gay and stupid, but a part of me feels that way.

I think what i meant by it was if i was the government id try and attack, get and punish the dealers severly rather than just people caught with possession

bah!

Great News. My best mate here at lufbra uni went to that debate as he is a member of its student body. He does not take any drugs but he voted Yes because he knows that is the only way forward. I am sick to death of people like the government talking misguided bollocks that only create more confusion. Regardless of what others say, I am going to follow MixMag's 18 ways for safer clubbing, for reasurrance, and keep doing these thing with the same people I know I can trust, and I know aren't going to give me something dodgy. I only hope something happens this time. Even David Blunkett can't be so blind as to not see what Britain's youth want, safer clubbing?
