Freedom vs Terror: And the winner is ......

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Despite the wall to wall coverage of the misdeeds of the badly named insurgents in Iraq, the BBC reports that Coalition forces have probably killed more civilians in the last 6 months that all the evil "terrorists" put together.

Conflict-related civilian deaths in Iraq. July 2004 to January 2005
3,274 civilians killed in total
2,041 by coalition and Iraqi security forces
1,233 by insurgents
12,657 civilians wounded in total
8,542 by coalition and Iraqi security forces
4,115 by insurgents

Yes, yes I'm sure you'd like to see me dead lukesh. And, the odds suggest that it would be a coalition force soldier who would off me. Right?

I bet my house that if you were 20 years older you would have supported the brutal regime of Saddam Hussein during the 1980s, just as the USA did- and all those dead Kurds be damned.

Recognise the man shaking hands with Saddam?

to be replaced by a different and more destructive regiem.
before we invaded ...the vast majority of iraquis were living ordinary peaceful lives.
there was no violence ...house prices in the suburbs were still rising on the eve of the invasion ...because even those who wanted the yanks to topple saddam ...didn't suspect for a moment their entire country was going to become one of bloodshed and destruction.
how would your family feel ...sucsessful buisness ...good schools ...nice restuarants and night clubs ...police force fire brigade ...all the ythings you take for granted ...gone in a wave of shock and awe to be replaced by horror ...how would you be feeling liuke?

Somehow I think you mean anything BUT "Everyone"

Bush couldn't give a flying fuck about the harshness of Saddam's regime, all he cared about was that he didn't have control of the oil.

Have you noticed how you and friends stopped giving a fuck about the disgusting conditions that Afghani women live under, once the Northern Alliance was in control?

    We don't believe you care.

    LOL

Don't be surprised if people say you come across as naive Luke...

How come they have not realised the President of Uzbekistan is a tyrant, a dictator and a monster? Bush is shaking hands with Karimov as he boils people alive and sends small children to force labour camps.

I don't hear any Bush supporters (or the chimp himself) complain much about human right abuses there...

How incredibly gullible you can be.

    Christ.

    So is Bush.

    So is Blair.

    So is Ariel Sharon.

So presumably, it would be okay to kill these men and invade their countries.

    Wouldn't it?

if thats the case, most presidents of the world are. there is a slight differnce between them you stated and saddam. saddam wanted them killed, i don';t see blair saying he wants them killed.

aladdin i can't see how you can compare blair to saddam.

FACT: Saddam has never attacked the US.

FACT: Saddam has never threatened to attack the US.

FACT: Saddam has never attacked Britain.

FACT: Saddam has never threatened to attack Britain.

This is not about comparing who's worse Luke. This is about the fact that no individual country has the right to demand that the head of State of a sovereign nation should step down- let alone force it.

The US and British governments are a complete joke.

Thank god for the United Nations. Imagine how much damage those pariah governments would do to other nations if the UN weren't around...

And those members of the UN that voted against the war were proved RIGHT. And they were right to oppose the war.

And the criminal governments of Britain and the US went to war regardless like the international pariahs they are.

And look at the incredible mess the entire world is today, thanks to it.

Lock up Bush and Blair now!

    No the UN is brilliant.

It curbs the risks of international pariahs and bullies such as the US government from doing what the fuck they want.

Too bad this time the bully ignored the will of the UN and the entire world and commited a war crime.

See the mess that's been created? That's what happens when countries ignore the law and become bullies.
