annoying pet names

i know someone who positivly HATES being called babe....like i can't stand being called hun or hunny (yet i tend to call others hun or hunny ) yet i don't mind being called sweety or sweetheart, infact i quite like it. and i hate being called hobbit or anything size orientated.....

anyone have annoying pet names that they have been given?

Different things from different people. There was someone who used to call me mate, and I hated it, but loads of people call me that. It's a respect thing as well I think, some people I just won't let get away with it, because it's too familiar for who they are.

i used to get called trinity loads by an old friend and it stuck. as did Luby.....but that was andy pandy's fault.........:(

There's a lass who works at the TopShop here that calls everyone 'mate', and it annoys the hell out of me. If she's in your way when you're trying to look at something it's - 'oh, sorry mate!'. If you've just tried something on it's - 'any good mate?'. As she asks you to sign something it's - 'check the amount and sign mate!'. If she's giving you change it's - 'that's two pound seventy change and your reciept mate!' and as you leave it's - 'thanks mate!' I swear I heard her at college talking to a teacher and ending the conversation with 'thanks, see ya mate!'. I'm guessing it's much more a bad habit than a deliberate annoyance, but Christ, it infuriates me.

I have hundreds of pet names from just about everyone. Babe, babes, hun, hunny, chuck, duck, sweetie, sweetheart, darling, pet, shorty, shortstuff, tiny, munchkin, munchkin-butt and La-La, just off the top of my head. Pet names don't bother me in the slightest - at the end of the day, however annoying they might be, there are hundreds of worse things to be called.

one of my ex's pet names for me was "cum dumpster"

can't say i hate any pet name (except cumdumpster)... as long as it's not used excessively i'm fine with it..

I generally like being given pet names, it's occasionally when people I don't know start doing it. Like when I worked behind a till and male customers used to call me babe. And I HATE people I don't know calling me Victoria. Yes it's my Christian name but I am always addressed as Vicky, and I made that fact known at my interview at work and again to everyone when I started, but they still get it wrong!! :mad:

One of my friends who goes to a different college - hangs around with 2 other girls and the 3 of them call each other bird...and make a point of ending any question or statement aimed at each other with it...it's like, I'll see her in town "Hey, how are ya bird?" "Thanks bird" "Love you bird..." and the list GOES ON!! Me and my bf call each other babe/baby far too much...probably pisses off a few people...!!! I used to be called 'Oil can' when I was younger, cause my second name is Derrick...otherwise I'm fairly cool with nicknames. Past ones have been randy ickle minx, bubzy and day...unusual ones! Up work one of the management calls me flower if I'm up close or hollers blondey if I'm a distance

The chicken thing is habit, and I don't say it that much anymore

I hate being called "princess" because of a certain person who used to call me it. Anything else I don't really mind.

But, same as Hunnypot...I hate being called Frances. Hate it. Fran, alos, but not as much. Not even my TEACHERS call me Frances.

There was a woman at my old work who insisted on calling everyone babes, which was sooo annoying as she said it at the end of every sentence! Also, people in Stoke call each"duck" or "shug" which is equally annoying!!:mad:
