Fainting

This is probably a stupid thing to ask, but i have a friend who faints a lot (well not loads but quite a bit). It was a bit scary the other week cos we were at a Dido concert n she fainted twice and we had to get these men to lift her and then she lost her shoes and its a stupid long story. The thing is that she says its because of heat that she faints, well im worried that it happens when we go on hoilday. She also told me she gets heat stroke (boy am i gonna have a good time). Does anyone know any ways of preventing fainting? Im just scared that its gonna happen a lot.

    she may have sumint wrong with her blood sugar levels, she shud go c a doc asap.
    can she tell when shes bout 2 faint?

    i think ive got low blood pressure.. well one time i went to the docs, she was a right bitch and she got me really stressed and i was almost crying abotu something, THEN she took my bp and it was a bit high. but when i stand up after sitting or lying for a long time, i get all light headed.. my mums hte same and her mum too, soi think its just low bp. doesnt happen badly, that often. after my period actually, weirdly. just noticed that.

    but yeah once i had this trip to a microscope place whre they were doing demonstrations and id not had any breakfast, and it was a an hrs journey in a coach or something, and i get travel sick too. and it was hot in there, and we had to stand up loads, so i fainted then, it was horrible! think its a combo of things.

    i wouldnt worry about it too much high_angel, theres prob something with yur friend like low bp that makes her faint... or low blood sugar too, like me having had no brekkie and it all combining to make me faint! i wouldnt worry too much high_angel. i,ll stop my waffling now!!

    Hiya!
    Yeah she can tell when she is going to faint, although she dosent give much warning! I think she just needs to make sure she eats like you say. I've never properly fainted, although once i was on a packed train to Birmingham n had to satnd n i almost fainted my friend had to catch me (embarrasing!)

    hiya guys,i think the low blood sugar thing sounds right,im diabetic,and the reason i found out was coz i kept on fainting and had to go to the doctors blablablablabla!does she need the loo alot?when she needs to go,does she really need to go?and thirst to?

    i am always goin 4 a wee! and it usually gets worse 2wks b 4 my period, i also am always thirsty. but when i need a wee, i need a wee and a loo has 2 b found!
    do u think i cud b diabetes, or just my period? i do also get occasionally dizzy, not v.often though, and ive never fainted cause of it.
    im prob panickin bout this 2!

    hey..umm you dont think shes anorexic or anything like that, right? that soundfs like jumping to conclusions, but it's a possibility. and it happened to me, so i thoughtid throw that idea out there.

    Helly, i think u shd go 2 ur gp just 2 b sure cos those r sum of the symptoms of diabeties, don't stress tho, just go 2 ur gp just b sure <IMG alt="image" alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/smile.gif"&gt;

    i still think it and ive mentioned it 2 my mum, and i did again 2 day and she went so mad at me say well go get urself sorted out then at the docs, and all this shit.
    wot r the other symptoms?
    (i shud know this but i dont)
    im scared, wot if i am- i cant do injections, i'd prob have 2 kill myself or sumint.

    Well as a bloke i reckon it's maybe, as someone said, not eating at the right times and low blood sugar. It CAN be a host of other things but deal with the obvious ones first before saying you have a brain tumour or something !!
    Low blood pressure certainly does this as well, try and take thigs a bit easier and don't get stressed too much .. also if you're lying down and get up too quick it happens like that as well but that's pretty normal .. even i get that !!

    Your doc will run diabetes tests because thirstiness and frequent urinating is a sign of diabetes, and other things such as not taking in enough fluid in the first place.


    If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.
