swollen glands/lumps

I had tonsilitis or some kind of throat infection recently, my tonsils were covered in white gunk but my throat didn't hurt much. It cleared up with regular TCP gargling and painkillers, and I didn't need to take antibiotics.

Except... my glands were quite swollen, especially on the right side. Now all the pain/tenderness has gone but the gland on the right side still feels bigger than it should and much bigger than the one on the left. I know you can't diagnose stuff over the internet, obviously, but was just wondering if it's common for glands to stay enlarged for a while after a bout of cold/flu etc?

You haven't said how long ago you had the tonsillitis, but it would be normal for your glands to remain swollen for a few days afterwards. The glands are full of your white blood cells which will have been very active in fighting the infection.

Had the tonsilitis last week, so I suppose that makes sense!
