I sell cakes and being the fool I am didn't realise that I had one to make for tomorrow morning. I do not eat cake at 1.30 in the morning. Or at many other times actually. just incase you were wondering.

yankee fruit cake is hard dry and might as well be a brick with dried prunes and other nasty "fruit" whatever it is there, i just hope its a bit different

A good fruit cake should be very moist, with dried fruit like raisins and so on, but there should be a lot of moisture in one. Soaking it in brandy is just

still no maybe a fruit pie. that'd be cool. you can make it as moist as you want but i'd still never eat a "cake" with dried fruit. not two things that should go together. just like "pie" and meat.
