I am assuming that he is refering to the fact that the red smarties are made with a 'natural' dye that comes from a certain type of bug.

These are bred and then toasted before being crushed and used as a food dye to produce a range of red to pink colours.

Strawberry milkshakes at Mc Donalds use it too.

The same is true for skittles and also some soft sweets.

I too can't believe people don't know this. The same for the chicken fat they put in McDonald's milkshakes. It feels as if everyone knows.

I'm constantly amazed by what some people dont know on here, things I consider common knowledge.

But then if pressed on football or similar I'd probably display a monumental lack of information.

Like most beers, Guinness uses isinglass – made from the swim bladder of fishes – in the production process.

It so is...it's like a fucking meal.

I personally hate it. But that's one in a Guinness drinking population of millions.

come on people. this is old news. like, over 20 year old news. my mum used to tell me about the bugs in smarties to stop me eating so many sweets.

and there was a thread right on this very board about it, so you have no excuse at all.

Well my theory is you ate it before you knew what was in it so what difference does it make?

Mind you, I'm not that keen on processed food. Or Guiness.
