Meat!

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Today I had a nice kanga fillet... I mean damn nice... It was like a steak, cooked medium rare but richer and a little tougher to chew. Last thing I ever thought I'd eat, but heck, I don't regret it!

Anybody here eaten any 'strange'/unconventional (by British stabdards) meat?

Next week I may go back to the place in Liverpool and try crocodile.

No my sister for eating such a cute (but admittedly violent) animal. I thought it was just wrong. Had one bite and didn't think it tasted nice either. Plus I felt guilty for all of ten minutes :p

You must have alot of images on your computer rolly..or else you don't save them and just go searching for them on google images.

Either way i couldn't be bothered with that for this place, they'r funny though.

I only eat chicken and fish so the most interesting thing i have ever had is squid and sword fish (which aren't even interesting at all :p)
My boyfriend tried crocodile once and said it was revolting, apperently osterich is ment to be quite nice, but i don't think i could if someone told me what it was beforehand. Oh and my friend when visiting her grandparents in Norway, ate reindeer heart and thats appperntly really nice, yargh.

I've had ostrich biltong, that was rancid.

Boar is good, and I'm a big fan of both rabbit and venison.

Never tried rabbit. Actually, not tried any meat that's not lamb, beef, chicken or pork.

Venison is a bit weird tasting, I found. I hated goat (it's as exotic as it gets in Ghana...apart from monkey) and the one chance I had to taste kangaroo, I was told it was too expensive. :(

I remember one of my mates from the site roasting and eating a squirrel we shot when we were younger.
I alm ost regret not trying it now but it did look fuckign awful.

I've got the attitude that if it tastes nice and won't kill me I'll eat it.

    clay baked squirrel is best.
you cover the whole animal in wet clay ...roast it ...all the fur and eyes and stuff come off when you break the clay off.

I've known the local chavi's since I was a nipper. Get on very well with most of them. Better than not getting on with them that's for sure.
Good bunch generally but thieving little bastards - all of them. :D

Fair enough, I cant say I've had any dealings with them myself, though a group did move into my home town and shifted stupidly large amounts of hash.
