it wont be released for a while yet. The next one (that's not really new) will be windows xp 64 bit edition for the other processors. Longhorn is scheduled 2008 or something. You can / could download bits now but it's very early dev stuff and may not be anything like the real thing.

Debian is alright, but not as good as Darwin (and OS X)... as a general Linux I would go for SuSE.

The only thing i like about apple computers is the fact that they are excellent for music recording and production.

just a question thought why suse? im not saying its crap or anything, im just wondering what reasons people use when choosing a distro.

for me its mainly because of debians apt-get. I love it.

SuSE has some very good in built applications, their customer service is probably the best of all the distros.

Well you are "kind" of right, unix is more suited as server applications, like i do believe apache was optimised to work best on bsd.

and i know quakenets ircd can hold up to 4 times as many clients on freebsd than it can on any linux distrobution.

I'm not saying anythings wrong with linux, its just that if you are dead serious about something and want a stable platform to run something on then most people choose some kind of bsd.

Lie. No pros use Windows. Or Linux. They all use Unix with cool start-up splashes like in the movie 'Hackers'.

It's got a cool symbol of a sun. With pointy bits.

Pros probably use it, unless they're as cool as the people in "Hackers".
