Sorry I haven't been on in ages but my Internet explorer at home won't open so I can't get on websites, just on the net.

    seriously we go this every bloody time, internet explorer is a complete piece of wank, i dont know why anyone uses it.

    please explain ...where do i get the alternative ...will things run as normal on my xp ...will i have to learn anything new...whats so good about the alternative?

    you can get the alternative here - http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/0.10.1/Firefox%20Setup%201.0PR.exe

    Will things run normally? yes, if anything it will run better because firefox doesnt allow spyware to be installed (and internet explorer does)

    Will you have to learn anything new? No, if anything its simpler, and more easier to understand.

    why is it good?

    Well its good mainly for the fact that it has tabbed browsing

    tabbed-browsing.gif
    which means you can have as many websites open as you want, but with only one version of firefox running.

    Also firefox will stop the majority of spyware that gets installed. It hasnt got loads of exploits in it like Internet Explorer has.
