Hi, i have an infected gland on my neck and it's really painful. I'm on antibiotics from the doctor but it still really hurts and I just wondered if there was anything I can do to ease the pain a bit. thanks!

    I've got an ear infection

Hot water bottles rock, just hold one on the painful bit

Also can you take painkillers with your antibiotics? Because something really strong like ibuprofen (i have copious supplies of extra strong stuff from the doctor left over from months ago when I had really awful liver pains (!) ) may help.

Alternatively, c-beebies is on the tv at the moment so you could watch that...that will cure anything (well you'll have killed yourself )

Thanks, i tried a hot water bottle and it worked really well!

The doctor said I can take painkillers with it but they aren't really working too well.

On another note I have to keep eating murray mints cos the antibiotics make my mouth taste really bitter!

Hope your ear infection gets better soon!

P.S CITV is much better than Ceebeebies (sp?) and less chance of killing myself so I think I will watch that. I think weird sister college is on today isnt it? *will now go check* it's on at 4:35 if anyone is interesed!!!

ibuprofen would be the best painkiller to take with an infection because it is anti-inflammatory, so will take down some of the swelling and ease some of the pressure.
