Just watching 5th Gear Repeat and they're showing howmaps, books, etc onthe rear shelf turn into flying missles at just a 30 mph crash, one map flew fast enough to smash the front screen .. worth taking note!!

i mean a china plate on her parcel self
haha.. we only have em for the speakers
Yes.
OK.
That's rather scary.
It'd be much safer if people only used them for parcels.
after the car had finished doing its impression of a washing machine and he crawled out bloodied and bruised he noticed a screwdriver embedded deep into the dashboard very close to where he was just sat.
he still speeds, but makes sure his tools are all locked up and tied down in the boot.
idiot.
a couple of steel toecap boots and a chainsaw.
boxes ...rubbish ...etc.
They also showed a car crashing with a big tool case in the boot full of screwdrivers, etc
Basically at 30 mph everything is thrown forwards at like 30 G's so a 15kg tool box now has the force of something weighing 30 times more. In their test it was so powerful it blew a gap straigt through the rear seats and send tools everywhere in the car.
They suggested when not in use you should also put the rear seats belt on in the back seat to help support the seats from bending in a crash and let anything in the boot enter the passenger cell.
And crash a Scud missile into Bishop Auckland and it'd be perfect
Well not sure what a plate weighs but lets say it 250g so at 30 mpg that plate will go flying forwards like a 7.5kg weight going at someone's head.
On the space shuttle missions the shuttle once came back with a crack in its windows caused by a fleck of paint travelling at many thousands of miles per hour. Objects plus speed = danger!!
You just can't teach some people.
