How would you go about getting things valued? Does anyone know? Has anyone ever got anything valued?

Experiences please :)

Do you have an auction house near to you? Thats where my mum had her stuff valued, and then got to decide whether she sold them or not.

I don't want to know how much they are worth in order to sell them. I am just curious more than anything :)

    "I'm just curious"

Sounds like a line you've practised before, maybe with another girl. I like it.

    Keep up the good work!

:hyper: I have an old stamp collection of my aunts years ago. It has loads of old ones. Do tell when you get them valued. I could be rich... :chin:

Maybe you should ask at your local antiques shop. :)

One of the big auction houses would probably be best.

It's worth knowing, for insurance reasons.

Stanley Gibbons publishes a little directory that can help you value individual stamps. Check in your Yellow Pages for stamp dealerships nearby, there are very often good people there who can help you assign a value to a collection.

I took something to a local place once to get it valued and the bloke told me he'd only value it if I agred beforehand to sell it to him. Ha! I declined and took that as a good sign.
