Summer approaching and I need to tighten my six-pack and develop my pecks to complement my Egyptian tan, ha.
What's the best basic exercise to tighten up a six-pack, sit ups got me half way there, what did Brad have to do for that 'Fight Club' six pack? Pecks from push ups?
Thankyou

Try pikeups. Lie on your back with your arms extended over your head, then keeping your legs and arms straight raise them both up so that your fingers touch your toes (or as close as you can get) Works lower and upper abs.
Another good abs exercise are leg raises, which involve lying on your back with your hands under your ass, keeping your legs an inch or two off the ground raise them while keeping them straight until your toes are pointing at the ceiling. This focuses on your lower abs.
To get the developed obliques (muscles on the side of your stomach) you have to do different situps. Lie down like you normally would for situps, then turn at your waist so your knees are lying on the ground to one side. Then do situps like normal. Switch so your knees are to the other side, repeat.
a good cardio workout a few times a week will burn excess calories and reduce your body fat combined with weight lifting.
Do you belong to a gym? A good way to exercise your pecs are butterflys. Lay on a bench with dumbells starting with them parallel to your shoulders, press them up then together so at full extension they are touching each other. Find a weight that you can repeat 10-12 times before you're exhausted, this will build bulk and strength, then do three or four sets of 10-12 reps.
If you belong to a gym, cable crossovers are even better, in my opinion.
I've been working to get my abs back for a while and so along the way I picked up some good info-glad to be able to share it.
If you need any more let me know
Goddamn it - two fitness related threads in a day and Alex beats me to both
Ha. I was just waiting for you to get here. I should have been nice and left one for you but....
That sounds like a hell of an ab exercise. I think I"m going to try it out today. Let you know how it goes.
Did you try the exercise? If so, what did you think?
So ended up doing them at home, awkwardly.
I used the big chest I have in my room for dirty clothes to stick over my feet (ouch). It worked, but I've got to find something better....or someone to do them with.
My workout partner moved to to NY a month and a half ago and I haven't gotten around to getting another.
It worked my abs pretty well, although it seems to focus more on the lower ones. They were nice and sore the next day.
3 weeks later, my abs are looking a lot better, so cheers. Will be keeping it up as I try to lose more body fat so that my efforts are more visible.
*feels all infomercial-like*
I find waist bends quite good too although possibly they target *love handles* rather than abs?
Yet another satisfied with the Alistair Fitness System. You too can feel fit and healthy like Snow White, 18 from Canada.
Honestly tho, it's nice to hear from people that your advice has helped. *glows*
