Colour fonts can cause mayhem with the screen. If you look in your User Profile, it's possible to change the colours of the website when you're navigating. I use the 'calm and blue' theme personally, and red fonts play havoc with my eyes. I would only use colour in extreme circumstances, where you have a lot to say and want to emphasise a particular point. Or to emphasise how much I like you, Aimz. Purely in a sweet and innocent kind of way, of course.

Ok but you have a colour sig so how can you say that? surely that bugs others too... or did you mean bold colours?

It's about readablity, no-one cares if they can't read a sig. but if I were to use a selection of colours, some would be really unreadable, and need highlighting to make them obvious, others would just grate on the eyes
