but some english accents are horrid! v. unattractive. i sound really posh apparently, it's terrible. i don't like most american accents too much either.

i do think irish accents are quite nice though. and australian accents. but i'm sure if i lived in Ireland or Australia, my liking for them would soon wear off...

I view American as "flat". I mean it's regular (except from Southern). While English is nice, if you don't have too much of a northern accent.

i love scottish accents. and irish. i think they make a person instantly more funny.

i also love geordie, generic northern and bolton type accents. and barnsley. no other accent in britain sounds quite like barnsley. i like a good west midlands twang too.

southern accents are all a bit blah. especially that 'student' accent that people seem to pick up. i hate that.

irish accents: everyone loves 'em! yay!
northern english accents: not very sexy but fun
southern english accents: SEXY AS HELL!!!!!
american accents: boring

i have to agree with everyone so far...

how about middle eastern accents?
and asian accents?

german accents are really ugly

english! no doubt! when i started to learn the language, my accent was just like that, but then I started to see some movies and to listen to music and now my accent is the ordinary american

Ok American accents are pretty much "standard" due to most films coming from America, but I still love some parts of America for their accents. I can't be specific because I've heard a variety of accents. But for example the Texas accent sucks, where as Seattle ain't too bad. Some American accents I find really sexy too.

The occasional Canadian accent ain't bad either.

As far as UK accents are concerned, I don't really like any except soft Scottish and Irish accents. Most places in England and absolutely everywhere in Wales, have horrible accents IMHO. And that includes my own.

Though the British stoner accent is cool

Southern accents are horrific. Estuary English is the vocal equivalent of a wet fart, Cockernee is spoken by cunts, and as for RP- I hope all the speakers die. Painfully.

The South should be carpet-bombed.
