Ooh! Suits you sir!
Did you take your lady friend, ooh! Did she want it sir?!?
I didn't know that.
And gosh I do feel old for remembering The Fast Show.
Remembering Drop The Dead Donkey (and still getting the jokes now) makes me feel even older though.
Ah! Ah! Ah!
It started Alan Partridge, The Day Today and Brass Eye.
Cumulus Nimbus! :crying:
Sound brilliant.
Was it the radio version of The Day Today (which was flippin' hilarious)?
Amando Innionuci was involved in the writing of it, and him and Christopher Morris wrote the other things. They both also (interestingly) went on the BBC's internal news journalist training.
They use this training to excellent effect for the comedy, its in places so like BBC news, yet not quite.
Truely fantastic.
I shall hunt the tapes down...
I saw him only recently as it happens, not socially, at a pilot for a Radio Four comedy show. It was excellent, I nearly wet me'self.
Unfortunately it doesnt appear to have gone down very well with the controllers because I havent heard it on yet.
But, the content was pretty dodgy, there was jokes about "wapping" something into a girls face, and quite a bit about velodromes.
Velodromes?
I guess the gags dont really work taken out of context.
Anyway, Amando is alive, around and still VERY funny.
Though he is very short.
I know what a velodrome is, I just don't see a comedic connotation. I'm obviously naive.
He is rather, isn't he?
Yes, he is very short, I'd say maybe 5' 4'' something like that.
Given the BBC at the minute funny things won't get made. Look at how badly MOnkey Dust is treated.
*sigh*
And what about The Smoking Room, I quite like that, but they have repeated the same show 3 times this week, plus the first showing.
The jokes about Tony Adams are particularly nasty. Buit very very funny.
I haven't see that, though I've heard very good things.
Did you ever catch Peep Show on Channel Four, now that was a comedy gem.
Sounds a lot like Little Britain then- funny, but over-hyped.
Alas no:(
It involved Mitchel and Webb, the latter is involved in The Smoking Room and both of them as a pair did a classic radio Four show too.
That was hilarious.
Few people can. Oh well:(
After three pints it is:)
And yes, this thread has been completely hijacked. Leave for your own stafety.
heh, i do think that is the safest option
You killed it. All of you
