genital warts?

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
my friend has just confided in me and told me that she thinks she has genital warts. She doesn't want to tell her boyfriend and she's frightened to go and get any help so I thought that I'd ask for some advice here.

She said that she has a few small lumps sorta like extra bits of skin on the skin between her vagina and anus, they don't hurt or anything but she's worried.

Am I right in thinking that these are gential warts?
Can she pass these onto her boyfriend?
Will they spread if left untreated?
Where can she go to get them treated (if I can convince her)?
How do they do this?
Is there anything else that I should be letting her know?

Thanx in advance

    (a) not sure, she'd have to see a medical type for a proper diagnosis.
    (b) yes.
    (c) yes.
    (d) sexual health clinic. if she's embarrassed, she can tell her mates she's just off for a smear.
(e)not sure on girls, but i have been told for males they freeze them off with liquid nitrogen, so probably something similar?
    (f) don't worry, and get it sorted sooner rather than later.
