Last night my boyfriend and me ordered pizza and parmesan and it got me thinking...does anyone on here know what a parmesan is? Not the cheese, the fantastically calorific delicacy.
I'm pretty sure that it's just a North East thing so I was wondering how far a field the knowledge of 'parmos' had managed to get.
yes I am very bored...humor me

EDIT: In actual fact I think Parmesan is English for Parmigiano.
it's not the same...the one's that you can get in resteraunts, parmigano (sp?) are different.
it's ok...i didn't think that the north east had invented italian food
it's a dish with the cheese in it
nope...ordered a pizza and a parmesan
I did look on google for a pic of a parmo for you but it doesn't seem to want to play very nicely with me tonight
I googled it, and it came up with loads of different dishes.
Eggplant parmesan, fish parmesan, asparagus parmesan, oysters parmesan.
Was it a pasta dish, a bread dish, a vegetable dish, a potato dish, a souffle, a flan?
its a bit hard to tell just from calling it a parmesan.
it's chicken.
Chicken parmo
you mean what theyre talking about here
Ive never had it, or even heard of it before you mentioned it.
It must be a northern thing.
yep and newcastle and that kinda area.
i'm just amazed when my mates down south don't know what I'm talkin about.
I may have to move to London and open a parmesan house
wonderful stuff. so creamy ...so versatile.
try making a sauce with ot ...cheese. cornflour.butter.cream.
Parmigiano Reggiano is the correct italian name for the cheese i think
