how can i ask if my boyfriend is infected?

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
ok, i've just strated going out with a guy at uni who is a year above and known for being a bit of a player, he knows i'm a virgin and is fine with that but i am curious as to how to aproach his previous sexual experiences without making him seem like a diseased animal because i am naturally nervous about sleepoing with him and this is heightening my anxiety.

Sleeping with him and getting infected shouldn't really come into the equation. If you're both sensible, using a condom is an absolute must. If he's not willing, then it's time to move on.

You could simply say "I know you have a rep for getting the girls. Are you sure you haven't caught anything in the process? Just I'd rather not be stuck with it."

And you don't even have to do that, as the others have said - protection should be enough.

Yeah, good idea to use a condom, but they do break and you can't be too sure. Why not ask him to go get tested before you sleep together - just say that you'd feel a lot more comfortable and relaxed if he did that. If he's a decent bloke he shouldn't mind. Good luck <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/smile.gif">

I agree, and if you stay together for long, you'll want to be sure anyway... if there's any doubt at that stage, make sure he gets tested. Unless his rep's just a load of hype of course...

Take your time and get to know him better as a person before you even think about having sex with him. Hope it all works out OK.

if u wanna talk to your b/f about this u really have no need to feel anxious, just a wee bit of tact is require, e.g. don't say 'do u have that nasty VD that rots flesh', say 'have u been tested'

buuuuuut quite frankly i'd go along with everyone else, contraception will be enough, if u wanna that extra bit sure, take the pill too
