'Sex positive'?

Can anyone provide me with a good quality definition of the phrase 'sex positive'? It's been mentioned on the telly a lot lately. Is it an americanism that english people might not relate to?

I am not from England and I have no idea what it means either. Maybe it simply means 'super positive', if we assume that sex is a very positive experience...

As all above - i have never hear d that expression and havent a clue what it means.

i would hazard a guess and say its either somehting to do with having good sex or having a high sex drive.

can i ask anybody whose heard it what context was it used in?!?!

I'm not 100% sure on an acurate meaning for 'sex positive' but I did a bit of research and found the following sites which might help peoples judgement:

From what I can gather, someone who is sex positive promotes, supports, encourages and recognizes sex in todays society and has a positive attitude towards it.

Its like this if you don't know the meaning of something you should adopt your own meaning. My opinion on this is that sex positive is society accepting sex and not keeping it locked behind closed doors which the English are meant to do. It is meant to be a special thing that we should be happy about and not embarrassed. There, that will be the way that all of us should interpret this saying.
