New shoes that rub

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Ok I bought a new pair of shoes, you know the pointy ones with the litte heal and anyway before anyone says anything they do fit. The problem is they rub the back of my heel when I walk. Does anyone know how to prevent this? Btw I was wearining this with bare feet.

The best tip I ever got was to buy some handcream and before you put your shoes on rub loads of it into your feet. I did it all summer and it works. Take the handcream with you to re-apply throughout the day.

Are the shoes made from man made materials? That may be one reason they rub.

if you're wearing them with trousers, just put a plaster on the back of your heel. problem solved.

but don't do this with cropped trousers or skirts, cause it looks so shit.

In TopShop you can get these little pad things that you stick in your shoes.

Put plasters on and wear them around the house for a couple of days until they're loosened. Also put soap on the part of the shoe that's rubbing.

I'm afraid you need to just break them in. Man-made material can be a bugger just as much as leather and such.

Take them to a cobblers and get them stretched, or hand them to a fat woman to wear.

Gave my Mum my pixie shoes, and this worked wonderfully.

    Hoorah for her ignoring SlimFast.

Apparently, rubbing soap on them, or weeing on them, works. Personally I haven't tried this, like. I've seen those pads in Topshop, and they're bright pink :-S which is a bit offputting. Personally I just wear a plaster on each heel, quite a big one though or the shoe just rubs it off.

I mite wear them around the house with socks so they don't rub anymore hopefully on to break them in and if they still rub I will put a plaster on.

doesn't weeing on them only work with leather??
