Did anyone read the little article in the sun newspaper today? It was about a girl who commited suicide because of exam stress and Dom from here was quoted in it :thumb:

    He probably was asked to comment as he works for a charity that is trying to help young people with issues that affected the girl.

    I don't this his commenting implies that the girl who killed herself had ever even seen this website.

    I knew someone who tried to kill herself over exam stress. No way I'm happy about it happening, but IMHO exam stress is one of the most stupid things to kill yourself over.

    Isn't it easier to laugh though? Not about suicide but I remember when my Great grandmother died, it was christmas eve...

    When my mum told me I burst out laughing. It's just an expression of shock, I didnt actually find it funny.

    my brother did punch me in the head for it though...i stopped laughing

    My point is it's either laugh or cry, and despite not knowing the girl, suicide never fails to depress the hell out of me, so make a joke...

    Revenge is the stupidest, mind. People who try to kill themselves because someone won't go out with them, and then they succeed.

    Oh and I agree with static, it is easier to laugh than it is to cry, at least for me. I've never found it easy to feel upset or grieve, it either rolls off me. In fact, this guy got hit by a bus the other week at my school, and I laughed when I heard. Not that it was funny, but it was either stand there awkwardly, put on a pretend 'awwww' or laugh.

    A lot of the time, people do it for attention. I mean, they stand at the top of a building for god knows how long so the whole world stops just for them. If they wanted to kill themselves they would do it quietly without anyone around.

    I'm not saying this is whats happenned in this case - because it's not obviously - I'm just generalising

    Just because it is reported by the Sun that the reason the girl killed herself was exam stress doesn't actually mean it was.

    She could have had any number of problems that no-one knows about.
