    That he either needs a drink to pluck up the courage

    or he's taking advantage of you but when sober doesn't really want a relationship.

    nah, i'd forget about them. though they could just be nervous and find a drink helps the confidence a bit.

    Depending how so they're coming onto - Is he all touchy feely with ya? If so, he's wanting to just get laid -
    Or talking to you more, complimenting, etc? Possibly his way, of wanting to confront that he likes you but never had the courage to do so when he's sober -

    I'd think he was unsure whether he liked me or not, or had trouble admitting it for whatever reason.
