There's no way you could get that made, in that short notice. I had my prom dress made about 9 months in advance.

I'd say scour topshop, miss selfridge etc... they always seem to have those dresses in there....

I like the dress. And a good dress-maker would be able to do it within a week.
At least I know that when I was at a dress-maker specialising in sweing according to wishes, she said she needed a week.

So I think you should find one ASAP and ask her, instead of people on a board...
Surely it doesn't take 9 months to sew a dress

    Oh hush you!
You came for advice and my advice was that the dress should be burnt.
Its horrible, i mean really. It dnt make her figure look good at all, and whats with the frills!! Why anyone would want a close fitting dress with wrinkly bits and a bow that then goes *POOF* at the bottom is beond me.
That woman has a great figure and that dress dose nothing for it. If anything it makes her look like a 50s throw bakc scarecrow
    Bitchy school girl my arse.

im not gonna be dead polite cos u werent exactly subtle it just came across plain catty. i didnt really ask for an opinion on the dress itself cos its personal opinion and doesnt matter really...

but anyywayy just forget it and lets swiftly move on and sorry if i caused any major offence im just bit stressed

For fucks sake. She comes to ask a question about where to find it, not your personal opinion on the matter.
It's fuckinga nnoying to return to a thread with people coming with irrelevant replies...

Either way, update on how long a dressmaker said it would take to make...

it would probably only take a couple of days to actually make, if that, but bear in mind they also need fittings, and may have lot of other work on. this is wedding/graduation/leaving ball season, and most dressmakers are up to their eyeballs.

^^Which is why I had my dress made with 9 months notice. It had steel bones in, and cost an absolute fortune...

All the fittings took up most of the time...

Moving slightly askew from the topic but after looking through that hollywood style website, who the fuc* dresses these celebs now! Christ all that money and no idea on what the hell consitutes an evening gown. Get me out there now, i feel a gap in the market for someone blunt, honest and fully able to call themselves a style consultant :D

P.s undesignated if you can't find anyone to make your ideal dress, then maybe try some dress hire agencies which usually also sell evening gowns as well.
