Why do people cheat?

Why do people cheat on one another? my ex gf told me how she cheated on me and she was sorry it happened. Doesn't help me much though does it. I was offered sex today by a nice girl but refused it because I didn't want to cheat but then I found out that she already had. I hate life! It sucks!

Ive cheated on a previous boyfriend but only coz i was on holiday and very drunk... though we broke up soon after that neway as we werent in love or had a good relationship-thankfully ive never been cheated on but i think i would totally fall apart if my current boyfriend did!I think its just the thort if your partner kissing or holding sum1 else the way they old you which is so horrible <IMG SRC="frown.gif" border="0" ALT="icon"> it depresses me now,just thinking about it!

Well my gf got drunk and was kissing her ex last week. She says she feels stupid. I was supposed to be meeting her today and spending the weekend with her. Now I'm not so sure. We're gonna talk today and decide what to do from there.

Some people cheat coz they dont get what they need from their partner (not always in the bedroom). I know my last b/f gave me all the love and sex i needed but there was the fact of the way he used to make me feel sometimes and the things he used to say to me. When i did cheat on him i regretted it so much, but the person i cheated on him with said so many things that i wanted my b/f to say to make me feel special. the words i love you dont mean anything to me. I'm a self conscience girl and i need to be told how beautiful i look (even when i dont) just to keep me going.
I know now that if i do find anyone as good as him again i wont be cheating on them.

When I've cheated it's been because something was missing from the relationship I was in. The last time it happened it really made me realise that I wasn't happy with the man that I was with so I ended things between us. If you're even comtemplating cheating, you really need to evaluate your relationship & see if you can fix what is wrong before you destroy it.

Some people cheat coz they arnt in love with their partner. I think if u dont love ur partner it wud become much easier to cheat.

My best m8 has got a girlfriend but isnt in love with her and it doesnt bother him if he wanted to cheat on her.

Well I went to see my gf yesterday. Got the train to Liverpool, Guess what? She didn't turn up. So I got on the train home feeling really down. Changed train and spotted these two girls that looked really nice. I sat near them. One sat next to me, we started talking, she put her hand on my leg and the rest is history and I'm well happy. i know that u cheat when soemthing is missing between your current partner and yourself... its not right though, i always say i would rather be told as soon as it happened than once the relationship is over.

I don't think that people necessarily cheat because they're not satisfied in their relationship (although it is a very viable reason...). And getting drunk and regretting it? no comment. but I read somewhere once that most people cheat because of the RUSH they get from it - because it's new and different and they know they shouldn't be doing it. After all, if someone tells you not to do something, it almost makes you want to do it even more (in some cases). of course, that doesn't mean that cheating is okay. It's very painful and it sucks for the person who's being cheated on!! So next time you are tempted to cheat, think about how you would feel if you were sitting at home while your mate is fooling around with another girl or boy.

I know that last time i cheated it was because i wasn't happy in the relationship and i didn't have the guts to get out of it. I couldn't. I didn't want to hurt him, (even thought i ended up doing that more in the end) So i cheated on him with this guy that i liked. I ended up getting with this guy and we stayed together for a few months. so all wasn't a lost caused. but not all people do it for stupid reasons or because they are drunk.
