What do you think is the minimum age a 17 (almost 18) yr old guy should go out with? cos i really like this girl at work who's 15 but 3 yrs below me at school. too much?

    When I was fifteen I got involved with an 18 year old and the only reason that didn't work was because he was slightly using me and slightly because we just didn't really suit each other. I don't think that there is a minimum age that would be right for you as it depends on how mature each of you are for your age and whether you are serious about her. If you really do like her there is no reason not to act on that- but you have to be prepared for awkward stuff [your friends meeting her, her friends meeting you, the fact that you can probably get into clubs more than her and stuff, and what her parents may thing etc.] Basically what I'm saying is don't hold back because of your age if you like her - after all really soon that sort of difference wont matter at all!

    general guide, purely my opionion - ages are minimum and approximate.

    14 y.o guy - 13 y. o girl
    15 - 13
    16 - 14
    17 - 14
    18 - 15
    19 - 16
    20 - 16 (but pushing it)

    course, there are always exceptions, circumstances etc. i know i happen to be very fond of a 14y.o girl, as a 16y.o guy. i wouldn't have any problem going out with her, but i think if it came to sexual acts i would certainly think twice b4 going ahead, and would certainly make sure she's ready. and i don't think there is any way i would have sex with her. but that's a WHOLE other story.

    My best friend is going out with a 23 year old (she's 16), I think as you get older an age difference matters less anyway, and I don't see any problem with it in your case as long as you remember that she is younger and don't try to pressure her too much .... but I'm sure you wouldn't do that anyway however old she was <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/tongue.gif"&gt;

    When I was 14 I went out with a 21 year old. As it happened he was less mature than me & that was why it didn't work out.

    At 16 I went out with a 36 yr old, but that was a bit extreme.

    Other than that (& my current husband) the gap has always been between 2 & 5 years for me <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/smile.gif"&gt;

    Well i'm 16 & am currently goin out wit a 20yr old guy. I think that the older u get the less the age gap matters!
    My parents are cool about it as well & think he's great...hmm....
    I don't think the age gap between u & this girl u like matters, i mean its not that big an age gap really!!

    im 19 & kinda c-ing a 34 yr old Dr at the mo! were mates as well as having the occasional snog etc, i do thinks its a bit stupid of me, but i never notice the age difference between us.
    i think as long as ur happy and compatable then fair enough.
    (i do usually stick 2 my age range though!)

    A friend of mine (16/17yr old guy) is going out with a girl about 13/14 years old. I reckon it's fine if they're both cool with it and wanna go out with each other then they can <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/smile.gif"&gt; I wouldn't go out with a guy more than a couple (at the very most) of years younger than me. I like my guys older <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/biggrin.gif"&gt;

    When i was 16 i went out with a 21 year old who i worked with. Didn't last mainly coz i was a virgin and he was a model and couldn't understand why i kept turning him down.

    My last 2 blokes were 20 and 21. Im 16.
    My best m8's 16 and her bf is 24.
    I think it depends on the ppl. If ur both mature and happy in the relasionships then go for it!

    it doesn't matter!!! it's expected that fellas go out with younger girls..

    Im 17 and my boyf is 44 .. yes i know big age gap.. no he's not a paedophile, perv whatever... we havent had sex... been with him 1yr 3monnths + im v happy.

    Dont want any neg comments abt it.. not in the mood just wanted 2say that our age gap is v extreme (yes old enuff 2be my dad etcetc) but it works 4us.

    How did you meet? And what do you parents think? I just can't imagine mine agreeing to me going out with someone so much older.

    Okay u guys r going 2think its a whole lot worse now lol ... we met thru school.. he was teaching and we became friends. when he left we kept in touch and got on really well and then got 2gether.

    My parents dont agree at all.. neither of them will talk 2him/ let him in the house.
    Its been really hard but he's worth it.
    Erm... 2 friends know and theyre really supportive and they know and like him so its ok.

    Anyway.. please no neg comments.. i'll cry lol

    i dont think thats a problem, not in my opinion anyway. age shouldnt really matter as long as ure both happy

    Nope neither of us knew at all, we just became really good friends and i cud tell him everything and he cud tell me everything.. we kept in touch after he left and found out that we both felt the same way abt each other.
    Nothing cud have happenned if he'd stayed bcoz we'd b sure to b caught out and him sacked most prob.

    I'm glad SOMEONE does! i think 44-17 is a bit wrong, and am gonna get shouted at for saying it but what the horse food.

    20-14 is wrong, as well, because although they may not think it or seem it, 14y.o girls are generally quite fragile - or at least the majority of the ones ive come across.

    so yeha,t hat's my view.

    You always hear the stories but i've never known anyone it's happened toooo......(yeah i do.. the old physics teacher at school had sex with the students and filmed it all!!!!)

    Lol.. well my situations not quite like tht...anyway, i know loads of people wont like it but we dont flaunt it in every1s face so i dont see the harm in it.

    Turtle - i can see ure point of view.. i wud have felt the same coz its not until u actually experience something that u truly understand it... didnt mean 2b patronising if thts how it came across.
