ok so i work with about 16 lads at the week end lucky me!but theres this one lad there who i am in love with!every friday night like tonight i cant help but feel sick because i know i am going to see him the next day.i really do like him but i dont know if he likes me to,because his cousin came up to me a few weeks ago saying that he likes me but hes really shy around women and he dont dare to ask you out in front of the other lads because they all just make fun.he has been giving me signals that he likes me for ages until a couple of weeks ago and my mate told him that i liked him and now he has been being weird around me,not talking to me as much as before and he sometimes even ignores me.what do i with this then shall i tell him at the x-mas do when im bladdered and feel a prat in the moring when i have to face him at work or shall i leave it and if he likes me he will tell me in my own time?help

lolly

    Hmmm.

I don't think you should just let it lie, nor do I think that a drunken confession will work. Heck, if he's that shy he might not even be at the Xmas do, right?

I'm guessing theremust be a kind of "off-duty" area where you guys hang out, right? Most places of work have a "staff corner" of some kind. I'm not suggesting you ambush him there, but perhaps happen to be in the same place at the same time.

Angel, if he's that shy and aint gonna make the move, then you make the move. It's 2001 not 1847. You aint gonna get stoned for being a harlot. And for God's sake don't do it when ya trolleyed at the Christmas do. Take a nice deep breath, walk up to him and just ask him if he'd like to go for a drink or summat. One of you has gotta break the ice, why not you? <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/smile.gif">

... And if you don't even try, you've had it in your heart. It's a cliche, I know, and I'm sorry, but it's true: there is nothing more destructive than endless what-if?-ing about the past.

I really can sympathize - I went through a lot of the same thing where I used to work.

    My thoughts are with you.
