"Ten hospitals in England were today given the go-ahead to become foundation trusts by the independent regulator. The hospitals will remain part of the NHS but will become new independent organisations with more financial control and freedom from Whitehall."

so is your local Trust one of them?
and if so do you think it will make a difference?

or is this foundation thing just confusing?

My local Trust will become one - it is, in my experience an excellent hospital, and the consultants who have consulted me (and my family) have worked beyond the call of duty. It is clean, tidy, not overspent (that much anyway) and generally an alright place to be, whether staying, visiting or waiting.

so people, what do you think?
