I think cheating becuase of hormones is indefensible. Yeah we may be animals, driven by biological influences- hormones, instincts... but we're humans aka homo sapiens, you know what the sapiens bit is about? it means we're wise, knowledgeable, clever; we perform complex cognitive processes, we live in the most complexly evolved social environment of any species, and that says something. That means we are intelligent enough to curtail those hormonal outbursts and do something sensible, like not cheat.
