Unlocking mobiles

Anyone know how? Got a new O2 sim but my phone is vodafone. My mate is gonna take me to a shop next week where it costs £5, is there any way I can do it myself? My phone is a nokia 3310 or 3330 not sure which.

    Not that this is any help but no i think you have to go to the shop i had the same problem.

    The only way you can do it yourself is with a cable that costs £10 - £15.

    well I found a free website that gave me the code..was http://www.uniquephones.com/unlock/ so saved myself the wait and £5 :D

    I want to unlock my phone except I have a Siemens MT50, so take it I would have to take it to a phone shop to get it unlocked?Does it really just cost a fiver?
