Herpes?

I know this aint anything to do with sex but i would get more replies here. Any way, i've got herpes and people say that you cant have sex if you have active herpes? How do you know you have active herpes? All i see are a load of bumps and dots. They dont do no harm and i usually forget about them. I dont wanna fuck a girl, give here some fucking disease or something so please help.
