cap or mesh?

For highlights... just wondering what each does? I'm always asked when I book an appointment but as I've always had cap, I always say cap, as I have no idea what a mesh would do.

    My hairdresser uses mesh packets when I get my highlights done, they work in the same way as foils.

    Anything but the cap!

    It hurt me sooo much :(

    I have mine done with foils, much better.
