Why do some ppl rely on a man?

I have a mate who switches from bloke to bloke......long term to long term. Why?
She finds the next before the old ones gone, and she was tempted to get back with the one who beat her up... yeah right!!!
She promises me i'll or her firnds will come first but they never do.

I think if someone has always been in a relationship with someone it's hard to suddenly not be with anyone - it's the same with girls who are always single, if they suddenly get in an intense relationship they want out because they're not used to the commitment.

All people who have been in a long term relationship know that when you come out of that it's really weird and you don't know what to do with yourself - some people cope with that by getting with another bloke!! I personally got pissed with me mates every night and snogged every man in sight!! hee hee <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/wink.gif"&gt;

My best friend was like this and has had god knows how many abusive relationships (which Ive been guilty of doing too i must admit). The reason usually is that u r not happy in yourself and think u dont deserve better. Once u have had one bloke beat u up or anything like that its easy to keep doing it with other blokes and never learning. I think this is down to beleioving u deserve it and thinking that when I bloke treats u well they r strange and must be after something. Weird as that may sound!
It becomes a bit of a habit and untill u realise u deserve better it often just happens over and over again!

This is very true. My lady was in an abusive relationship for over 5 years and it has left it's mark on her. She has rock bottom expectations of me and often assumes that I'll treat her the way she used to be treated, which has caused problems in our relationship.

This is one of the few things that makes my blood boil with hatred, how can someone have raised their hands to her?? Even just thinking about it now pisses me off, a mix of anger, hatred, revenge goes through me. some people do DESERVE SHOOTING IN THE HEAD.
