My love interest *sighs*

Here's the problem. I'm totally befuddled by this girl called anna.

I haven't known her for too long, but i know how i feel (or at least think i do <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/smile.gif">).

Anyways, we have only one short conversation (direct conversation that is, i've talked to her via a group chat kinda thing a lot). Sometimes we both catch each others glances and we stare at each other in a nice kinda way (is that a good sign?).

Well the thing is i really like her, but while away for a week with the school, she had a 'relationship' (for want of a better word) with a bloke (bad sign, or just me not making myself obvious enough?).

The main problem i have is trying to talk to her. I always feel i need a reason to go up and speak to someone, i can't just say, "Hi, how are you?" (i think has something to do with my total inability to get a convo started). I need to be able to speak to her, let her get to know me more, but at the same time subtley letting her know i like her, without frightening her away.

So far i think i have been 'too' subtle and would appreciate any tips.

(BTW, you may have noticed the extensive use of brackets. Many people waffle and write random points, but they are normally subtle ways of asking for answers too questions. Here i have made the questions obvious by putting them in brackets)

Sorry for the Waffle. <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/smile.gif"&gt;

    What you need to do is get invited to a party that she's gonna be at. Then get really drunk (well not to drunk that you are being sick and acting a fool, but just drunk enought to give you a bit of a confidence!), then go over to her and have a chat, i'm sure once you get started you won't be able to stop!! Either that or find something that you have in common with her and start up a converstation that way!

    If you keep catching each others glances, then, yeah, thats a good sign!

    Next time ur in a group chat, pickj up on sommat she says and start talking to her about it. Ask about her (noone likes anything more than talkin about themselves!), what she likes, and youll find out if you have owt in common.

    Good luck mate, just be yourself!

    It matters not who won or lost, but how you place the blame.

    Hey, I've known myself to be in the same boat as you since I can remember! But there are ways of getting round it and overcoming it. Two points:
    • Have confidence in yourself!
    • Show interest
    A conversation can be incredibly easy to uphold if you just expand on their interests or activities. This also helps you learn more about the person, and since conversation is a 2-way thing, they will get to know you better too.
