Got a Duran Duran playlist on. A View to Kill currently playing.

you ever listen to Talk Talk? (they're the ones who did the original "It's My Life" -- you know, the one that No Doubt covered) they're one of my favorite 80s bands.

they started out like a Duran Duran rip-off (though a pretty good one), but by the end of the 80s, they made some of the most complex, beautiful music that the new wave produced. Their last album, Laughing Stock is amazing--you gotta give it time to wash over you, though.

Come one people. It's a proven scientific fact that the New Romantics were all shit.

    Now for some proper music.

Well, my contentious friend, I'd like to say that I'd take the Davies brothers over Paul Weller any day. Mod revival? blechhh

actually, The Jam are pretty good. but so is a lot of the New Romantic stuff that you seem so anxious to disregard.

Face it, the New Romantics detracted from the other awesome music that was happening in the 80's - thrash, hair metal, Faith No More and that kind of stuff. You think anyone will still be listening to Spandau Ballet in 50 years?

    Ozzy Osbourne - Perry Mason

Ironic isnt it - she saved and then ruined Ozzys career.

But lets face it, Ozzy had no real talent - he just hooked up with exceptional guitarists and songwriters.
