DVD player and earphones help

Does anyone know if there is a special lead you need to plug into the dvd player to be able to hear through earphones or to even connect it to 2 speakers and position the speakers around the room? the dvd player is "minato",I got it from tesco,there are ports at the back saying audio ect but my earphones wont fit into them and theres no port on the tv either.
