I still buy singles, but very rarely. They're a bit of a rip off, but I buy them when I'm a huge fan of the artist/band and I really think they should be number 1.

The last one I bought was Will Youngs single but it was only £1.97 :D

slacker bitch is my favourite placebo song :D

I occassionally buy singles, I have about 50... they're usualy a bit expensive, I must agree, and no one bothers with b-sides anymore.

I'll sometimes buy singles if they've got good B-sides like the Manics who put a bit of effort into them.

I wouldn't usually buy singles that have just been released, just ones I see at record fairs for 50p or whatever.

Heheheh - Tim, I see that you have been watching Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Superb film... I tried and failed to be him when I was younger... Living in the real world didn't help!

Oh - I *did* go to the top of the Sears Tower in Chicago a few weeks ago and put my head against the window like they did in the film... Fooookin' freaky I tell you!!!

Why? How do they make up the charts in America if there are no singles?

    they vote on it :p

i also think albums are better value for money, especially the good ones, singles are about £4, but an album bein about £12-15 and you get a lot more songs on the album, even the ones they dont release tend to be good

I know in the world of disposable pop albums tend to be three of four singles and a whole lot of pointless filler, but that's not usually the way it works!!

I don't buy singles any more, I don't see why anyone should be expected to pay around £4.00 for like one or two songs when you get 12+ songs for about £12.00. I used to work at Virgin and the singles there are ridiculously overpriced, we sold considerably less singles than anything else. I know at one point they were considering basing the charts on airplay rather than number of singles sold, because just not enough people buy them anymore.
