    Statistically, that's pretty unlucky. (Unless u live in a inbred village a million miles from mowhere. <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/wink.gif">)

    Yeah, distance is always hard to overcome.

    Cos i'm thinking about a brand new hope, one i've never known, and where it goes, cos now I know it's all that wanted.

    i know exactly how you mean l-i-l. both my boyfriends have lived a long way away from me and i met them both on the internet. kinda makes you wonder what youre doing wrong doesnt it?

    my first bf lived 4 hrs away by train and that was bad enough, and there wasnt even any complications about seeing him at weekends.

    now mark lives around 8 hrs by train and i have to get buses for part of the journey too coz theyre doing engineering or something, and he works at the weekend so he cant come down. i went up at half term and ive not seen him since 25th feb. i was meant to be going up tomorrow, skipping 2 lessons to spend more time with him as he cant get time off work and ive booked my tickets and everything, but now i cant go up coz he cant get any time off work, not even enough to see me off on sunday. and his mums working and so there'll be no one in the house to supervise in case i wreck the place, so im not allowed to go up. im trying to negotiate going up next week, again skipping 2 lessons or i dont get there till like 10pm, but again mark is still working on saturday from 8am till 4pm and it takes him up to 2 hrs to GET to work. hes due to work on sunday too. but its mothers day on sunday and even though i dont see why it will be a prob... i mean he works till 2pm normally and my train is at 2:15 so id be gone before any mothers day events such as gonig out could possibly take place, so its not like id be a problem. BUT marks forgotten to ask his mum all of this week and so now i cant book my tickets in time coz theyll be like £80, and id also lose the £50 from going up tomorrow if i cant get a refund, or them transferred, and they dont like doing that. to save mark asking his mum about mothers day and me being there for a few hours of it, hes now suggested i go up the week after. ive not seen him since 25th feb and ive been planning to go up for ages now and it keeps changing and its too stressful all this sorting. if he could just get a new job and come and see me it wouldnt be a prob having to get round work and his mum blah de blah de blah.

    sorry ive gone into a rant. and im sure mark will have a comment about all of this tomorrow.

    its not even like im totally socially inept, i do have males as friends in school, one of my best m8s is male. there've been people ive fancied and ones whove fancied me, they just never seem to tie in with each other, so ive not been out with anyone closer. god thats quite sad, the closest boyfriend ive had lived 180 miles away.

    ah well, maybe one day ill go out with someone living in the same county as me. *sigh*.

    I met my bloke on the net, he lives in Mablethorpe, and i live in stamford both in Lincs, but an hour and a half away from eachother. Which is fine. The only problem is his job, it means he is mostly all over the UK, and if i'm lucky i see him once a week, if work lets him. But i reckon if they are worth waiting for, and they feel the same, it does work. I know its hard, but don't give up.

    didnt relise there was so many people just like me!GFM, thats quict sad that he lives so far away and ur hardly ever able to see him, why is it the people we like are so close yet so far? im glad im not in ur situation though 8 hours by train and £50, i couldnt hack that. ive slowly been finding faster ways to get there and found a way which means going in the opposite direction 1 stop to get a trainw hich cuts 20 mins off my time <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/smile.gif"&gt; so im a bit happier, but still id like to see a bit more of my g/f duno wots up with girls around here and me. guess they find better b/f's than me or maybe cos they my own age they dont want me. ((((GFM))))
    and to think im fed up with paying £5 for a travel card in london every week, £50, but aww GFM i hope it all gets better and u can spend more time with each other.

    I have no experience in this at all and nothing to add at all except...........

    ......my mate's going out with his neighbour. Isn't that sickening?! While everyone else is trekking halfway across the country to see their boy/girlfriend he just needs to nip next door. Grrrrrrrrrr, just needed to post this cos it makes me envious - even though I'm not seeing anyone long-distance anyway, but still!

    thanks l-i-l... after september i should be at uni in cardiff, which is only about 3 hours away from manchester. god knows how ill afford trains though! hopefully mark will be able to drive by then (get learning!! <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/smile.gif"&gt; )so he can come and ssee me at weekends and it wont be such a major thing to see each other as it is now. and hopefully soon hell get a new job that means hes free on weekends so we can see each other more than once a month!! hate distance!! grrrrr <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/mad.gif"&gt;

    I don't think i could ever be wit sum1 that lived that far away but thats just me!
    I've only had one long distance relationship & that only lasted a couple of weeks! He lives in Liverpool & i live in Reading!
    All my other bfs live in or v.near Reading! My current bf lives a 20min drive from my house across the other side of Reading but my most recent 2 ex's live about a 10min walk away from me!

    I think distance can be a good thing, but not too far away. Coz you don't want to be living in eachothers pockets all the time, and its nice to have your own space sometimes. Then theres all theat distance makes the heart grow fonder crap!!!! Its a good test on a relationship though.

    wot does 'living in each others pockets' actually mean? i thought it ment taking each others money, my last g/f sited that as a reason to dump me, but i didnt know wot it ment, and was to down to ask her.

    also i saw my g/f this weekend and i dont care about distance now lol. probs be different by wednesday

    distance is a bastard, when you see the person you make the most of it coz you dont see them very often and its all great, and then you go home and you feel like dying coz you cant see them again for a while! and then after a while you get used to missing them... and then you look forward to seeing them again and it starts all over again. bit of an emotional rollercoaster, but if you can find someone youre willing to make that much effort for, then its damn well worth it <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/smile.gif"&gt;

    living in each others pockets i always took to be spending every single minute of every day with each other and doing things the same all the time, and while it can be good for the beginning, sometimes you just need your own space.
