    It not everyday England actually beat other teams on an international level in any sports except Snooker and Darts!! ... not being a Rugby fan I didn't follow any of it .. so how come they won? Were they just very good or was the other team just really crap??

    We went into the tournament ranked no. 1 but in some of our previous games we didn't play as the world’s best, but we still got the results for each game. a lot of people, especially the Australian press, were critical about relying on jonny wilkinson for getting our points by kicks and not tries. in the final we matched Australians try for try though.

    at the end of the day the best team definitely won, we were down Australia’s end for most of the match and had the most possession. its a day that all English people can be proud of, for once....!

    My congratulations to the evil Saes!
    Despite my best efforts at supporting my new home country, well I have friends that live there, and they're not England :P (and some very hairy moments in the JCR with lots of English public school boys threatening to bombard me with doughnuts/beer cans) England are rugby World Champions.
    However, knowing how close many teams came to beating them gives me heart that perhaps they aren't invincible and someone will def. get them now they're even more arrogant ;)

    However, I will swallow my pride and say once again - well done England, it was a good, tense match and brilliant entertainment, even for the (slightly) partisan like me!

    ya know im not normally a big rugby fan, but i watched the world cup, and watched it before, and i had to turn it off 5mins before the end! it was well tense, i did put it back on though :D
