I've wanted to know if there is an age that people have to be before they get a girlfriend. More or less all of my mates have or have had girlfrends. I'm 16 now and I've had no luck whatsoever with girls (Yes, I'm a Stiff). I havent really let it get me down but it still would be nice to have someone. According to my mates, it will all change when I go to sixth form but I don't really have a clue. Can anyone help me with this situation?

    The only person that can change things is yourself. You've gotta get out there and try and get yourself a girlfriend. Main thing is confidence. I don't have a lot of confidence and yet I've managed one or two somehow. I'm sure you will find someone very soon. I didn't get a girlfriend til I was 18. I'm sure you won't have to wait as long.

    No, there is no 'set time' other than the time it takes to meet someone you click with, which depends on many many things...your location, social life, availibility of potential candidates! It's often difficult meeting people at school because yo're so restricted, but then again, lots of people do. It's therefore really hard to generalise.

    Some people find their first boy/girlfriends at twelve (bearing in mind these are usually nothing like serious relationships, last about a week, and yet somehow still count!) and then there are people like me...I didn't get my first kiss until I was 18 (highly forgettable experience) and then met my first boyfriend a few months later - we've lasted over a year so far.

    So, you're not in the least weird and you'll probably find someone comes along when you least expect it. Good luck <IMG SRC="smile.gif" border="0" ALT="icon">

    If your a nice guy then you should have no trouble getting a girlfriend, just try and be a bit more chatty and flirty BUT BE YOURSELF!! If there not interested, then it's there loss, just move on and you'll soon find a girlfriend!!
