I was really saddened when I read about this.
Clicky
The man involved is lovely, I bought my poppy from him both this year and the year before.
I think its very sad that people have resorted to attacking people collecting for charity for money and kicks.

Its horrible though how someone can disrespect someone like that
i have connections with the military ...serving freinds and such.
when you see these old duffers proudly marching on their parades though now old and nackered remember ...they were teenagers mostly at the time they had to risk life and limb. young men and women like you ...with energy, love and laughter in their hearts. they had a lot of their youth taken from then. they were librarians, grocers, postmen, accountants, apprentices and then ...
they had all of 12 weeks training to face bombs and bullets and hardship.
inside these old men are young memories of war and it's horrors.
have they caught the bastard yet?
I'm completely of your opinion Mr Roll - I work in the bar at the local branch of the British legion at home, and they're all really nice. I can't imagine the horrors they went through fighting to keep the country free for everyone, including me. Why would anyone want to put them through more horror?
we will remember them ... and goddamn show them some respect too if I have my way
