How do you take a photo on a webcam? It says on the box that mine does photos, but i can't figure out how.

There should be an icon on your desktop that you can open that will open the area of your web cam and then there should be like 3 or 4 option at the top and if one says something along the lines of "Create pictures and videos" click on that and it will have like take a picture or record a video towards the bottom on the left side.


Whatever you want to take a pic of just hold your webcam at whatever it is and then use your mouse and click on the 'take a picture' button.

does it have a button on it?

my old one (i gave away ) did.

if it doesn't insert the CD that came with it, and install the software from there. Then open the program (make sure to remember what it's called) - somewhere in that program there should be options to take photos.

What make is the cam?

RTFM! It's in the manual somewhere, or the Help file. Read 'em! Of course, it may be a good idea if you say which make & model webcam you have, so that anybody with a similar/same one may know straight away.

There are hundreds of makes and models of Webcams out there.
The more information you provide us - the better we can help you.

Telling us the make and model and your version of windows and what program you're trying to use the webcam with would be the first stage in helping us to help you.

Mine does this....

Bottom right hand corner, icon saying open logitech camera, if i right click it gives me options..I click on imageStudio & hey presto, i get to Take a pic, record a vid ect.
Either that or i just press the button on the top of the webcam.

We need more info to help.

hmmm my webcam's a twat hence why i am going home tonight to tidy my room....will get 50 quid for that then invest in a remotely decent webcam and new headset! yay

But yea, go to documents and it should show you a lil picture of a web cam, click on it. then see what happens.

i dont i'm only getting it cos my room is an absolute tip and hasnt properly been done for months
