Expelled for being anti-war
I think Tony Benn sums it up perfectly:
I think Tony Benn sums it up perfectly:
.The message that is sent out is: if you are in favour of the UN charter and peace, then don't be a member of the Labour Party because if you do, you might be expelled

How very nice of them to expel, gag or ban anyone who dares go off-message or speak against the Dear Leader.
They have learnt nothing from the Ken Livingstone affair it'd seem.
I always thought they represented the working class, or they were supposed to and I thought they were fairly left wing too... Bollox to that.
I'm votin' green! :thumb:
I don't care which side is inciting hatred and violence, they are still wrong, and I would like to see the whole transcript to see if my impression of what he was saying is correct......
My friend's been screwed over by them many-a-times by that BBC Show Week in Week Out (or the makers of it/presenter).
basically to get a juicy story they pick and mix parts of interviews and whatnot and it's not always what is said.
But I'm still voting green.
I don't dispute that in the slightest, it is standard practice and we all do it, any story we ourselves relate to others is filtered through our own emotional response and prejudices, no such thing as absolute objectivity.
That is why I want to see a transcript of exactly what he said.
According to the BBC these are the charges laid by the Labour Party (and of which he was found guilty of all but the third charge):
- he incited Arabs to fight British troops
- he incited British troops to defy orders
- he incited Plymouth voters to reject Labour MPs
- he threatened to stand against Labour
- he backed an anti-war candidate in Preston
Well I must say I don't have any problem whatsoever with 2, 3, 4 or 5. I would like to see the full transcript of his alleged encouragement to Arabs to fight British soldiers. In any case, this is not a matter for the Labour party disciplinary panel or internal rules.
Seems like another case of fascist tactics by New Labour.
Their loss.
His main point appears to be that the invasion was illegal thus under the rules of the Geneva cionvention the British soldiers should have disobeyed orders, not unreasonable I think..........
The only people who fully support the ways of New Labour are right wing voters and the owner and editor of the S*n.
London Labour voters told New Labour to FUCK OFF and voted for independent candidate Ken Livingstone en masse. I would expect a majority of Labour voters in Galloway's constituency are going to do a similar thing and side with him, deserting the party that has been kidnapped by right wing twats and has betrayed everything the Labour Party stood for.
I'm a Labour Party member and I'm disgusted with this decision. Someone mentioned Ken Livingstone earlier, it is disgraceful the way the party treated him. Most ordinary Labour members backed him, most trade union members backed him but Blair pulled every trick in the book to block him. He then went on to push Frank Dobson into third place. To be honest, I expect Nicky Gavron, who is totally unknown where Frank Dobson was known due to his stint as health secretary, to come in 4th place next time given the unpopularity of New Labour compared with 2000 and the improved reputation of the Lib Dems.
I'm surprised Galloway isn't joining the Scottish Socialists, they seem a lot more in tune with his style. I also sincerely hope he forces a by-election in Glasgow Kelvin and I hope he wins just so another blow can be delivered to New Labour.
What a load of bollocks the whole thing is!
Because he doesnt criticise our beloved Prime Minister, stoopid!
But the fact is Galloway broke Labour rules, and he cant complain about being expelled, though it proves just what a devotee to democracy the cunt in Chequers really is.
Corruptions OK, criticising Blair isnt. Dont ever forget that.
Which rules particularly?
We could start with open support for a non-Labour candidate...
