Can / Do Re-kindled Love Affairs Really Work? / Is re-lighting an old flame good/bad?

I was curious as to peoples opinion. Do you think that lighting up an old flame with a past lover - especially if it was a happy relationship - can lead to a successful / long-lasting relationship?

When people brake up they only seem to think about the good bits and seem to think their relasionship was perfect and forget the problems they had.(If they wana get back together)
So I guess a little more time is needed.
But I do agree that if the love and trust is still there, why can't it work?
Then again, you are also right in that if you broke up once, there's nothing to stop you breaking up again, and the 2nd time round it might be easier / more tempting to do it when the going gets tough!
